The court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate NER Mahendra Kumar Pandey found accused Mangru Saav guilty of stealing the generator part of the railway engine and imposed a sentence of 16 months and a fine of five thousand rupees. Mangru, an outsourcing worker in the railways, committed the thefts during the Corona period. Cases have been registered in Varanasi, Hyderabad, Gurugram, MP, Chennai, Raipur, Jabalpur, Kerala.
Mangru Saav, a resident of Kachhwa police station area of Mirzapur, along with his partner Raja alias Rajmani Das, had stolen an important part of the generator vehicle while working on outsourcing in the railways in 2021. Raja was arrested from Ranchi. Mangru was also made an accused on the basis of Raja’s statement. He was arrested.
RPF Inspector Sandeep Yadav summoned Mangroo from Lucknow jail. Sandeep told that Mangroo usually used to go to the coach near the generator car. During that time, he used to wear the Indian Railway identity card around his neck. Taking advantage of this, he used to take out important metal parts including copper strips from the train. He used to sell the parts for lakhs of rupees.
After the case was registered in Varanasi RPF, the investigating officer had already summoned the accused and taken him on remand. The accused demanded the settlement of the case by saying that he was poor. After hearing the case, the court pronounced the sentence.
